Frequently Asked Questions
Have you got questions? Let us know
- Are tickets available on-site at Confederation Park on the night of a performance?
- Absolutely. Tickets are always available at the front gate box office on Laurier Street across from City Hall. It is rare that the park would ever reach capacity and be considered “sold out” but seating is first come first served so it is always wise to be there a bit early.
- Can I bring food and drinks into the park?
- Yes you can bring food and non-alcoholic drinks to the park. There are a number of food and drink vendors on site selling most beverages including soft drinks, beer, wine and coffee. There are also a number of food vendors selling typical festival fare like sandwiches, french fries and ice cream.
- Is there a designated wheelchair section in Confederation Park? Are there accessable washrooms available on-site?
- We do not have a specific wheelchair section but there are pathways down both sides of the park that many wheelchair attendees use. We also provide accessible washrooms located along with the rest of the portable toilet facilities on the grounds.
- Does the Ottawa Jazz Festival have a lawn chair policy? Are regular height chairs frowned upon and lower chairs preferred? Will there be designated seating sections for different sized chairs?
- We really don't impose a lawn chair policy. The vast majority of people show up with the new armchair style fold-up lawn chairs that collapse into a shoulder bag. Some people do prefer to bring smaller wooden festival seats or blankets to sit on but they can experience a disadvantage over the taller chairs. Seating is really first come first served and festival-goers try their best to arrange their seats in rows radiating out from the stage. We don't offer different areas for different seating types but you will however find pockets of similar chair heights sticking together in the crowd.
- What is your policy towards smoking in Confederation Park?
- Out of consideration to fellow audience members, we ask that you do not smoke in Confederation Park.
- What is your policy towards photography and recording equipment?
- At the request of the artists, absolutely no photography, sound or video recording of any kind will be permitted. We ask that you please leave your photographic and electronic equipment at home. Thank you for your cooperation.
- Are outdoor concerts cancelled when it is raining?
- No, our outdoor concerts go on rain or shine.
- Are children admitted free to Confederation Park events?
- Yes, children 10 and under are admitted for free to Confederation Park events only. They will however require a Gold or Silver Pass to access the Gold Circle area.
- Can I bring my dog to Confederation Park events?
- Sorry, dogs are not allowed in Confederation Park during the festival.
